Appian and Smartronix have partnered to offer cloud-based business application development software as a managed service to the Department of Defense and other federal agencies.
The partnership seeks to help government customers deploy the Appian Platform in cloud computing environments such as Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure, Appian said Monday.
Jason Adolf, industry vice president of Appian's global public sector business, said the company built its platform to help agencies develop mission-critical information technology apps and comply federal security and data privacy requirements.
Smartonix offers cloud managed services that were certified for DoD Impact Level 4, which covers the management and security of controlled unclassified information or other key mission data.
The U.S. Air Force has adopted Appian's platform for an IL4 cloud-hosted infrastructure as part of a project to update and standardize the branch's contract writing IT systems.
