ANSYS has partnered with commercial software provider Analytical Graphics Inc. to integrate mission analysis and simulation technology to help aerospace and defense companies in the design process for large-scale systems.

The partnership aims to provide modeling and mission simulations to help engineers assess components and predict performance in complex scenarios prior to production, ANSYS said Thursday.

AGI’s multi-domain mission analysis software Systems Tool Kit will use ANSYS’s engineering physics component models to create large-scale simulations, such as satellite operations in orbit and aircraft flight over debated areas.

“This partnership addresses important root causes. Specifically, we are eliminating the tool and process gaps between the concept-development, systems-engineering, detailed-design, and system-operations phases of large-scale programs. This step alone can dramatically accelerate the timelines for the delivery of large-scale systems,” said Kevin Flood, vice president of engineering at AGI.

He added that through modeling and simulation manufacturers can accelerate the delivery of their systems.
