Alion Science and Technology has opened a 57K-square-foot facility in Indiana to develop and sustain multiple systems for the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division.
The System Sustainment Center will facilitate research, development, production and maintenance of electronic warfare, weapons, intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance and soldier-carried platforms, the company said Tuesday.
Dino Cencetti, vice president of ISR systems and sensors operations at Alion, said the company has supplied equipment and supported redesign and technology insertion efforts of NSWC Crane over the past decade.
The company maintains WestGate facilities with a series of laboratories that design and integrate hardware, software and firmware for communications, processing, radar and EW systems. It also plans to adapt artificial intelligence tools to address technical challenges related to autonomous payloads and cyber mission processors.
