AECOM and Hill International will serve as program management consultants for the development of four new correctional facilities in New York City under a $107.4M contact.
The city’s Department of Design and Construction issued the award in support of New York’s first design-build program, AECOM said Wednesday.
AECOM-Hill will assist DDC in planning the procurement, creating program requirements and overseeing the four design-build teams that will be involved in building the correctional facilities in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens and the Bronx.
Under the contract, AECOM will combine its design-build and correctional sector expertise with Hill’s risk and project management experience.
“We’re humbled to support DDC and the City of New York on this first-of-its-kind transformative design-build program,†said Steve Morriss, president of design and consulting services group in the Americas at AECOM.
New York plans to close the aging Rikers Island Correctional Facility after completion of the four new sites.
