Information technology services provider 1901 Group received a contract under the General Services Administration’s IT Schedule 70 vehicle to help the Peace Corps transition data center operations to a hybrid computing environment.

The Reston, Va.-based company said Wednesday it will migrate the Peace Corps’ legacy data repository to a Equinix colocation facility that includes consolidated commercial IT applications and cloud services certified under the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program.

As part of the Professional Data Center Relocation Support contract, 1901 Group will engineer data center components, install and configure equipment, migrate apps and perform cloud infrastructure security functions.

The company will also manage data center buildout and sofware-defined network architecture as well as establish Disaster Recovery operations based on Microsoft’s Azure cloud framework.

Paul Wilkinson, executive vice president of corporate strategy and business development at 1901 Group, said the company offers services intended to supplement cloud platforms from Microsoft, Amazon Web Services and Google.

The contract was awarded through the General Services Administration's Schedule 70 procurement vehicle.
