The Transportation Security Administration has asked industry to suggest approaches, platforms and mechanisms that can facilitate a third-party testing process.

In a FedBizOpps notice posted Monday, TSA said its acquisition program management office created a process for the agency to review data from multiple external sources for use in system assessments.

The approach is meant to help expedite test and evaluation timelines, drive maturity of vendor offerings and provide additional data on system performance.

TSA seeks to work with an industry provider that can validate and locate qualified third-party testing organizations, as well as support collaborative piloting, research and development functions in the transportation security area.

Areas relevant to the evaluation of transportation security equipment include cybersecurity, human systems integration and threat detection.

Interested parties can submit responses through May 22.
