Textron CEO Scott Donnelly said foreign military sales may help its Bell Helicopter subsidiary maintain military revenues over the next decade as it is scheduled to complete its V-22 tiltrotor program with Boeing in 2024, AINonline reported Monday.
The V-22 program with the U.S. military currently covers nearly half of Bell’s total military revenues.Â
In 2018, procurement of the aircraft gave the firm $3.18B.Â
Bell is building its final 63 V-22s for U.S. customers and Donnelly said once the program ends the company may still retain military revenues from other countries intrested in the aircraft.Â
He also announced at a recent conference call with stock analysts that Bell is moving forward in offering another future vertical lift aircraft to the Army.
Donnell said the new V-280 aircraft has demonstrated low-level agility that is “superior to the helicopters that are out there today.â€Â
The official also expects Bell’s unmanned cargo drones to get more attention in the market as the military has been seeking autonomous technologies to support its operations.Â
