Raytheon Awarded $72M to Support US-Germany Guided Missile Tech Improvement Program - top government contractors - best government contracting event

Raytheon’s missile systems unit received a $72.2M contract modification from the U.S. Navy to provide design agent and engineering services for a joint missile system improvement program of the U.S. and Germany.

The Navy exercised options under a previously awarded contract for support work on the Rolling Airframe Missile MK-31 Guided Missile Weapon System, the Department of Defense said Tuesday.

Under the program, the company will help maintain the current RAM weapon system and provide design, systems, software maintenance, reliability, maintainability, quality assurance and logistics engineering support.

Work will run through September 2022 in Tucson, Ariz., and Louisville, Ky. 

An initial $6.89M will be obligated at the time of award through combined funds from the Navy and non-foreign military sales funds from Germany.

The Navy awarded Raytheon a five-year, $301.7M contract last year to help maintain the RAM weapon system used to defend against anti-ship missiles.
