Phoenix has received a $4M contract from the U.S. Army to demonstrate neutron-based testing approaches for high-flux neutron generators.
The company said Friday it will test fast and thermal neutron imaging systems and aims to combine X-ray technology with neutron radiographs in an effort to produce a hybrid image.
Contract work will take place at the firm's Neutron Imaging Center in Wisconsin, slated to open later this year. Phoenix will use the new facility to conduct neutron-based research projects and offer neutron radiography services to clients.
