Persistent Systems has received a 12-month other transaction agreement to demonstrate a radio system in support of the U.S. Army's network modernization efforts.
The service branch will evaluate the firm's MPU5 radio equipped with mobile ad hoc network technology and designed to support layer-2 communications for military personnel, Persistent said Tuesday.
Under the OTA, the company will also dual push-to-talk devices, sector antennas, full dismount and vehicle kit accessories with radio over IP functions as well as a Cloud Relay suite. The agreement also includes user training and field support services.
The Army is exploring commercial off-the-shelf technology platforms in an effort to determine if a product can help increase warfighter capability.
