The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency has issued a request for information on potential vendors that could provide a geospatial database for infrastructure observation before, during and after a natural disaster.

NGA said Tuesday on a FedBizOpps notice it seeks to utilize commercial business points geospatial database and provide the federal government with access to real-time content in support of homeland security and national preparedness, prevention, protection, mitigation, response and recovery missions through the Homeland Infrastructure Foundation Level Data program.

A selected contractor will develop a web-map service to share content with agencies from the vendor’s database on multiple areas of interest.

The platform should help operators to identify geospatial location, attribution and any relevant data characteristics over certain locations. Data will support all Presidential Disaster Declarations, the agency noted.

NGA expects the project to commence in July of this year and run through July 2022, with two option years to extend performance of work.

Interested parties can submit responses to the RFI through May 10.
