Shannon Murphy, former director of federal health solutions at Microsoft, has joined virtual care technology provider GlobalMed as chief technology officer.
Her more than 20-year career at Microsoft also includes roles such as in federal health architect and CTO for the company's federal health and benefits team, GlobalMed said Wednesday.
Joel Barthelemy, founder and CEO of GlobalMed, said that Murphy has been instrumental in deploying Microsoft’s Active Directory device management tool to support multiple government customers.
"She has handled some of the largest and most difficult integration projects including those involving tactical systems, manned vehicle networks and shipboard systems,†Barthelemy noted.
GlobalMed is a Microsoft-certified Gold Partner and one of the latter’s first federal independent software vendors. The Scottsdale, Ariz.-based firm is known for its virtual care offering that is available on the Azure Marketplace.
