Mercury Systems Intros Blade Servers for AI, C4I Applications - top government contractors - best government contracting event

Mercury Systems has launched a blade server offering built to support artificial intelligence systems as well as deep-learning and command, control, communications, computers and intelligence operations.

EnsembleSeries HDS6605 is a 6U OpenVPX server for general-purpose processing based on Intel’s second-generation Xeon Scalable processors, Mercury said Tuesday.

The platform is fitted with 100 Gbps in-system switch fabric interconnect elements, along with cooling and packaging features similar to prior Mercury blade servers that run on Intel’s Xeon processors.

HDS6605 servers have a technology readiness level of nine, with each blade enabling one 1.9GHz device to have up to 22 cores.

Joe Plunkett, Mercury's senior director and general manager for sensor processing solutions, said the blade servers enable big data processing, which can support emerging autonomous military operations.

Mercury Systems designs and produces EnsembleSeries blades at U.S. facilities certified by the Defense Microelectronics Activity.

The company expects the HDS6605 servers to enter the market by the second quarter of 2019.
