In-Q-Tel’s Chris Darby on ‘Democratization’ of Technologies

Chris Darby, president and CEO of In-Q-Tel, said the “democratization” of satellites and other technologies had closed the gap between the U.S. and other countries in terms of capabilities, CBS News reported Wednesday.

"I don't need to be a wealthy nation anymore to have an intelligence capability, to shape or impact another nation, to even have some level of kinetic impact with cyber and things like that," Darby said during an interview on the show Intelligence Matters. "There's a leveling of the playing field." 

He discussed how IQT works to help the intelligence and defense communities gain access to novel technologies through investments in tech startups.

Darby also cited the threat posed by China and how the Asian country leverages data.
