The General Services Administration has updated a special item number on the IT Schedule 70 in order to provide federal agencies access to an expanded range of cybersecurity support services meant to protect mission-critical platforms and high-value assets.
GSA said Tuesday it teamed up with the Department of Homeland Security and the Office of Management and Budget to identify key cyber services that should be included in the updated Highly Adaptive Cybersecurity Services SIN 132-45.
“The cybersecurity market has rapidly evolved since the initial creation of the HACS offerings just two and a half years ago, and GSA is responding to this evolution by including key cybersecurity services that were missing from the original SIN,†said Bill Zielinski, acting assistant commissioner at GSA.
Zielinski said the restructured HACS SIN will provide agencies access to platforms and services to protect HVAs that accommodate sensitive data critical to economic and national security.
The updated SIN has service subcategories and open to industry stakeholders for on-ramping.
