A General Atomics-built ground control station used a Collins Aerospace avionics system to facilitate a recent test flight of the MQ-9B SkyGuardian remotely piloted aircraft.
Collins Aerospace said Monday its Pro Line Fusion system helped the RPA’s operators manage the vehicle from takeoff to landing during the test at Yuma Proving Grounds in Arizona.
Brad Haselhorst, vice president and general manager of taining and mission solutions at Collins Aerospace, said he believes the avionics system can offer a path toward the certification of UAS operations in national airspace.
Pro Line Fusion is certified by the Federal Aviation Administration and equipped with decision-making tools and touchscreen features that support military aerial platforms, rotary-wing aircraft and commercial planes.
