ECS has inaugurated a facility in Northern Virginia to help government and commercial customers address cyber threats with the use of technology.

The Cybersecurity Innovation and Technology Operations Center is built to function as the company's hub for its cyber range, laboratories and security operations center, ECS said Wednesday.

“We made the investment in the CITOC so that our developers and engineers had physical and virtual workspaces to share solutions, foster communities of interest and facilitate research, development, testing and operations of cutting-edge tools in cyber, digital and cloud," said George Wilson, president of ECS and a 2019 Wash100 winner.

Andy Woods, executive director for cyber managed services at ECS, will lead the SOC and its efforts to deliver threat detection, monitoring, and incident response using security products from Elastic, McAfee, Swimlane and ThreatQuotient.

The company will support test and evaluation of multiple tools for customers through the cyber range and labs. The range is equipped with systems designed to help clients replicate applications and environments, as well as facilitate training and exercises.

Michael Zakrzewski, director of cyber technologies at ECS, created and oversees the environments that offer access to cloud-based research and vetting resources from Amazon Web Services, IBM, Microsoft and Google.
