Direct Energy Business has won a three-year, $40.8M contract to provide electricity to a Department of Energy laboratory focused on particle physics and accelerators.
The company will also provide ancillary and incidental services to the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory under the fixed-price requirements contract, the Department of Defense said Tuesday.
Seven offers were submitted to the Defense Logistics Agency for the procurement effort that will be funded by DOE's operations and maintenance funds for fiscal year 2020 through fiscal 2023.
Work will take place in Illinois and Pennsylvania through Dec. 31, 2022.
The Fermi Research Alliance, a partnership between the University of Chicago and Universities Research Association, manages Fermilab for DOE.
