Troy Windom, manager of federal automation systems at Dewberry, received an award from the ControlTrends organization for his efforts to help advance smart building approaches.
The industry group recognized him with a "Progressive Consulting Engineer of the Year" distinction, Dewberry said Feb. 27.
Windom holds more than 25 years of experience managing teams focused on building automation, commissionning and mechanical systems. His background encompasses design, specification writing, testing and training for control projects.
In his current capacity, he leads Dewberry's architectural and engineering work for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers under a potential $45M contract. He currently performs his duties from a company office in Raleigh, N.C.
He also spent six years at the U.S. Navy as a submarine machinist.
