A new Deloitte report has identified top technology trends that have an impact on space system operators and users.

Deloitte said it rated each trend based on relevance and the government’s readiness to implement the trend.

One of the trends mentioned in the report is the use of macro technologies such as cloud, analytics and blockchain in the space segment.

The report cited the use of artificial intelligence by organizations to ingest remote sensing data to generate weather forecasts and insights in real time.

Other trends discussed in the report include the efforts of cloud providers to automate administrative tasks to build up “as a service” capabilities; plans to build multiple mega-constellations to deliver global connectivity; emergence of intelligent interfaces that provide the groundwork for on-orbit servicing and other in-space supply chain approaches; and DevSecOps and cyber resiliency built into satellites and other space platforms.
