David Anderson, a 25-year systems engineering veteran and former senior solutions architect at iGov Technologies, has been  appointed vice president of engineering at rugged computer manufacturing company Systel. 

He will lead Systel's efforts to design and develop systems in his new position, the company said Wednesday. 

At iGov, he oversaw delivery of tactical information technology and communications equipment to U.S. military customers.

Anderson previously served in technology and engineering positions at Seagate Technology, Science Applications International Corp., Crystal Group, Gateway and Vishay. 

Systel is headquartered in Sugar Land, Texas, and offers rugged embedded, server and display computer platforms to the defense, energy and manufacturing sectors.
