The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency will host a proposers day on May 22 to discuss with industry a new program that aims to build robots that will operate in orbit to support satellites and other space-based infrastructure.

The event at the Naval Research Laboratory in Washington, D.C., will provide information on DARPA’s Robotic Servicing of Geosynchronous Satellites Program, according to a FedBizOpps notice posted Thursday.

The proposers day will provide an overview of the RSGS program, whose near-term goal is the development of a robotic servicing vehicle that will increase the resilience of U.S. space assets. DARPA will build the RSV in partnership with a team that will be chosen from industry.

During the event, pertinent technical details, proposal, selection and agreement processes as well as other requirements will also be reviewed.

Registration for the proposers day is open through May 6.
