The Defense Industrial Base Sector Coordinating Council has named BAE Systems, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman and Raytheon as founding members of a task force that aims to protect controlled unclassified information across the supply chain.
The Supply Chain Cybersecurity Industry Task Force, chaired by Lockheed Chief Information Security Officer Mike Gordon, represents a collaboration among defense companies and seeks to drive efforts that can increase resilience of the industrial complex, improve the resilience of the industrial complex, DIB SCC said Wednesday.
Gordon noted the group "will use the DIB SCC construct to serve as a focal point for industry collaboration across the supply chain, leveraging input and efforts from small to large companies."
The task force plans to initially focus on platforms to counter advanced persistent threats, increase accountability and oversight, implement paradigm changing approaches and establish Department of Defense-industry partnerships.
The Department of Homeland Security formed DIB SCC to coordinate sector-specific infrastructure protection activities and matters.
