Amy Gilliland, president of General Dynamics' information technology business, said Tuesday at the GDIT Emerge event that people and technology keep the business moving forward, MeriTalk reported Wednesday.

“As the technology landscape evolves we need to remember that people are the differentiator," added Gilliland, a 2019 Wash100 winner.

She described to event audience how the company uses emerging technology to help military and federal civilian customers address mission requirements.

Gilliland highlighted General Dynamics' research-and-development efforts for the U.S. Navy, as well as a cloud architecture the company designed to automate and simplify network functions for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
