The U.S. Air Force is looking for potential sources of virtual and mixed reality-based flight simulators for the F-15E Strike Eagle aircraft.
According to a FedBizOpps notice posted Wednesday, the service branch seeks to update the aircraft's VR simulation technology and integrate components with mixed reality capabilities.
Hardware and software requirements include a VR cockpit, biometrics system, pre-installed real-world missions, simulated weaponry, replayable flight activities and accurate radar interfaces.
Interested vendors can submit input through May 1.
The F-15E is a Boeing-built multirole fighter aircraft designed to travel at Mach 2.5 speeds and carry a range of payload and precision weapons.
