Raytheon’s intelligence, information and services business has received a contract from the U.S. Army to build surveillance towers equipped with an electro-optical/infrared camera technology to an unnamed customer in the Middle East.
The company said Monday it will provide a mobile surveillance system in an effort to help the Middle Eastern nation secure borders, critical infrastructure and military facilities.
Dave Wajsgras, president of Raytheon IIS and 2019 Wash100 winner, said the company has provided advanced border security offerings such as smart fences, 24/7 surveillance systems and over 500 surveillance towers to U.S. and international customers.
"We'll deliver this surveillance system and the related technologies our ally needs to maintain the sovereignty of their borders and help protect their armed forces,†Wajsgras added.
Raytheon IIS completed the design, development, deployment and integration of a border security system for another Middle Eastern client.
The company built the system with radars, EO/IR cameras, physical barriers and unattended ground sensors as part of a program that began in 2015.
