Paul Parry: Radiant Solutions Helps Facilitate Image Collection for Ground Systems via Satellite Modeling & Simulation

Paul Parry, director of aerospace engineering programs at Radiant Solutions, discussed how the company works to help ground systems improve image and data collection and downloading operations through the firm’s satellite modeling and simulation processes.

“Through our proprietary modeling and simulation programs, we’re able to help ground systems achieve their maximum collection capacity, gaining as much as a 50% more yield when coordinating collections of the satellites and constellations our customers already have in orbit,” Parry wrote in a blog post published Thursday.

The Maxar Technologies subsidiary considers several factors for its satellite scheduling and modeling and simulation processes and those include the onboard data recorder’s capacity, the satellites suitable for image collections and positions of ground stations for image downloading, he noted.

Parry mentioned Rich Rosenthal, program manager for aerospace engineering initiatives at Radiant Solutions, and his efforts to help meet the needs of defense and intelligence agency clients through the use of the company’s capabilities in machine learning, agile development, data analytics and virtual reality, among other areas.

Parry also cited that Radiant Solutions is competing to build a network of satellites that will use artificial intelligence to facilitate missile detection and generate images of ground targets as part of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency’s Blackjack program.
