Patriot Contract Services has received a 12-month, $77M bridge contract to continue helping the U.S. Navy's Military Sealift Command maintain and operate eight vehicle cargo ships.
The contract extension is for Watson-class roll-on/roll-off vessels used to address prepositioning requirements worldwide, the Department of Defense said Friday.
Work is scheduled to commence on April 1 and will continue through March 31 next year.
General Dynamics' NASSCO subsidiary built Watson-class strategic sealift ships for the Navy to lift and transport large military platforms such as tanks and helicopters.
