NTT DATA Services has received a Smart 50 Award in recognition of the company's smart city technology used for public safety in Las Vegas.
The company said Thursday its smart city platform was designed to accelerate response times for public safety activities and boost the situational awareness of corresponding decision makers via early incident notifications.
The platform uses internet of things devices, high-definition video, sound sensors and analytics to monitor a city and identify patterns of incidents across public areas.
The NTT-made smart city technology leverages infrastructure, IoT gateways and virtualization software created by other firms, including Dell EMC and VMware.
The Smart 50 Awards Gala, an event intended to honor smart city projects, wlll be held on April 1 in Denver.
