Northrop Grumman and Cadence Design Systems have partnered to design system-on-chip architectures with an advanced-node technology for aerospace and defense applications.
Vern Boyle, vice president of advanced technologies at Northrop, said in a statement released Thursday application-specific SoCs have the potential to support the country's military.
Cadence offers design, verification, digital and signoff tools, IP and methodologies intended to help industry address design challenges.
Paul Cunningham, corporate vice president and general manager of Cadence's system and verification group, said the continues to develop design standards for advanced node SoCs to support the defense and aerospace sectors.
He added the company applied its 30 years of experience and suite of system design tools for the SoC development project.
The two companies have worked together over the past two decades.
