United Technologies Corp.'s Noresco subsidiary has received an $86.8M energy savings performance contract to implement energy security and resiliency measures at U.S. Navy facilities in Japan.

Noresco said Friday it will provide a dual-fuel technology for the primary boiler plant at Naval Air Facility Atsugi in an effort to help the Navy save at least 2.1M gallons of fuel oil each year, as well as install new electric chillers at Commander Fleet Activities Sasebo.

Both naval sites and CFA Yokosuka will also receive new lighting and plumbing equipment designed to lower consumption of water and electricity.

Work will also include maintenance and replacement services.

Natasha Shah, a vice president of Noresco, said the company aims to help the military branch manage power supply and reduce energy consumption by 16 percent.
