SRI International has secured a potential five-year, $63.5MÂ from the U.S. Navy's Naval Research Laboratory to conduct low-frequency, high-power satellite calibration experiments.
The nonprofit organization will perform R&D actvities at its facility in Menlo Park, Calif., and at the Bluestar Antenna Facility in Stanford under the cost-plus-fixed-fee contract with an $11.3M initial value, the Department of Defense said Friday.
Contract work is initially scheduled to conclude on March 7, 2020, and would extend until March 2024 if all options are exercised.
The military service will obligate $50K in fiscal 2019 working capital funds at the time of award.
According to a FedBizOpps notice, the project's goal is to collect and generate radio frequency pulses from multiple DoD platforms through the use of a 150-foot antenna system
