Maxar Technologies has agreed to integrate its NaturalVue 2.0 global image mosaic and National Urban Change Indicator with Esri’s collection of maps dubbed ArcGIS Living Atlas of the World on the cloud-based ArcGIS Online geospatial platform.
Tony Frazier, executive vice president of global field operations at Maxar, said in a statement published Thursday the addition of NICU and NaturalVue 2.0 to the ArcGIS Online platform provides geographic information system professionals the ability to address global geospatial problems.
Frazier, a 2019 Wash100 winner, added the integration also expands Maxar’s partnership with Esri to help clients source and analyze large volumes of geospatial data to facilitate the decision-making process.
NaturalVue 2.0 provides a basemap covering more than 60K Landsat 8 images and supports web-based mapping and geospatial applications such as flight simulation, defense and military logistics and 3D visualization.
NUCI works to help analysts detect urban expansion and related changes using over 13K Landsat images.
Radiant Solutions, SSL and DigitalGlobe now operate as a combined entity within Maxar, while MDA continues to run as an independent business unit of Maxar.
