Kratos Defense and Security Solutions will collaborate with Corvid Technologies to help the U.S. Navy build test targets for the Ballistic Missile Defense System under a potential five-year, $223M contract.
The industry team will design, engineer, manufacture and integrate sub-orbital flight vehicles, as well as develop and test prototype weapon systems, Kratos said Wednesday.
Dave Carter, president of Kratos' defense and rocket support services division, said the company seeks to apply its experience gained from the Aegis Readiness Assessment Vehicles program in efforts to address the Navy's requirements for the sub-orbital rocket technology.
Corvid won the contract earlier this month to deliver the vehicles to the Navy, other government entities and Japan.
