IBM has made its Watson artificial intelligence platform available across all cloud environments offered by Microsoft, Amazon Web Services and other cloud service providers, Nextgov reported Thursday.
Claude Yusti, head of the AI practice at IBM’s federal branch, said the move could help federal agencies advance AI adoption and circumvent barriers to data access and information sharing.
“The question [became] how can we take the technology and make it more flexible and adaptable,â€Â he told Nextgov of the company’s move to help address difficulties facing agencies with unstructured data.
IBM unveiled the Watson AI system as part of its open source Cloud Private for Data containerized cloud platform.
The AI system also comes with a platform for developing machine-learning tools, an AI management service and a personal assistant, the report noted.
