The General Services Administration will host an online conference on March 14 to discuss the scope of a new procurement vehicle designed primarily to address U.S. Air Force’s new information technology requirements.
A GSA blog article published Wednesday says the 2nd Generation Information Technology blanket purchase agreement will replace the NETCENTS-2 IT Products contract, which is set to expire in November.
2GIT will mainly provide IT hardware, software and services to the service branch. GSA intends to extend the BPA to include all defense and civilian agencies as well as state, local and tribal agencies.
The agreement will allow government agencies and offices to procure IT, security and law enforcement products and services currently offered through Schedule contracts, according to the blog post.
BPA line items encompass data center, end user, IT network, radio equipment and order level material.
The 2GIT conference aims to offer information on the scope of the BPAs, request for quotation and the estimated timeline for contract awards.
