The General Services Administration has added cloud computing-related information technology professional services to a special item number under the IT Schedule 70 procurement vehicle.
Vendors can offer services to help government customers migrate to cloud technology platforms through the Cloud SIN 132-40 and may propose relevant services that fall within the scope of the updated classification, according to a blog article posted Thursday on GSA's Interact site.
The modified SIN will cover labor categories and offerings intended to support the assessment, preparation, refactoring, migration, integration and development of native cloud applications.
Services on SIN 132-40 differ from general IT professional services under SIN 132-51, the blog post stated.
The corresponding SIN for cloud services also now mandates that measured services will have a maximum length of one month in accordance to the National Institute of Standards and Technology. GSA implemented this change in a move to reduce the ambiguity of measured services.
