A General Dynamics business unit will participate in a two-day exposition to showcase a 4G communications system designed for first responder users in the customer owned and maintained market.

General Dynamics Mission Systems said Monday it will present the FirstRunner platform at the 2019 International Wireless Communications Expo that will take place Thursday and Friday in Las Vegas.

AT&T is testing the system's potential compatibility with the FirstNet national broadband network dedicated to first responders.

FirstRunner includes auto-deploy satellite connection mechanism, Wi-Fi hotspot and video streaming features.

TJ Kennedy, co-founder of The Public Safety Network, said the GMDS-built system will support network connectivity during incident response and training exercises in rural or remote areas.
