HawkEye 360 has appointed former Department of Defense officials Douglas Loverro and James Winnefield as members of the advisory board at the Herndon, Va.-based company.
Winnefield, a retired U.S. Navy admiral, served as the ninth vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and brings 37 years of military experience to HawkEye, the data analytics firm said Wednesday.
He previously instructed at the Navy Fighter Weapons School and worked as senior aide-de-camp to Colin Powell, now a retired four-star U.S. Army general.
Loverro, a nearly 45-year government service veteran, served as DoD's deputy assistant secretary for space policy from 2013 to 2017. Before that, he was the executive director of the U.S. Air Force's Space and Missile Systems Center. He is currently the president of Loverro Consulting.
