The Department of Homeland Security has announced the launch of the EAGLE Next Generation program that will replace the EAGLE II contract vehicle in providing the agency with new information technology services and technologies.
Soraya Correa, chief procurement officer at DHS, unveiled EAGLE Next Gen in a FedBizOpps notice posted Wednesday.
“EAGLE I and II have served their purpose,†she said in the notice. “The department will not pursue a re-competition of EAGLE II.â€
Correa said the new EAGLE Next Gen will not serve as a single contract vehicle. The program comes as a suite of contract vehicles with targeted scope to balance the use of existing Government-Wide Acquisition Contracts.
She said that in early February, DHS had already adopted the General Services Administration's Alliant 2, Alliant 2 Small Business, 8(a) STARS II and VETS 2 contract vehicles.
The agency also added the National Institutes of Health's CIO-SP3 and CIO-SP3 Small Business into its Category Management and Strategic Sourcing portfolio.
Under the EAGLE Next Gen program, DHS plans to issue agency-specific contracts that will seek agile, cloud services, data center optimization, independent verification and validation and systems integration services, according to Correa.
