Amazon Web Services has unveiled an object-based storage designed to help government and commercial clients retain data in cloud computing environments.
The company said Wednesday Amazon S3 Glacier Deep Archive works to store and replicate objects across multiple isolated locations within the commercial AWS and GovCloud (US) regions.
The platform will also allow users retrieve petabytes of data within a 48-hour period through Amazon S3 application programming interfaces or the S3 Management Console. Additionally, the storage class uses the Tape Gateway virtual library to help clients manage tape-based backups in S3 Glacier or S3 Glacier Deep Archive classes.
