The U.S. Army plans to negotiate a potential five-year contract with nonprofit research and development company SRC to build systems the military service needs to counter small drone threats.

A FedBizOpps notice posted Friday says the firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract covers the production of up to 100 Expeditionary Low, Slow Small Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Integrated Defeat systems, as well as E-LIDS deployment, logistics and sustainment services.

The service branch also wants SRC to help develop, integrate and test UAS countermeasures.

The proposed IDIQ has base period of one year and four option years.

E-LIDS is designed to defeat intelligence gathering and armed unmanned aircraft systems that can operate at varying altitudes and speeds.
