American Ordnance has received an $89.4M contract modification to supply high-velocity grenade cartridges for U.S. Army training.
The company will provide M918E1 40mm Target Practice Day/ Night/ Thermal ammunition and received the full amount of the modification at the time of award, the Department of Defense said Monday.
DoD expects the company to finish work by Nov. 30, 2021.
The HV TP-D/N/T training cartridge is equipped with a propulsion charge and a pyrophoric element and designed to integrate with Mk19 Mod 3 grenade machine guns, according to a FedBizOpps summary.
The target practice round generates an impact signature that is visible to the user and through current night sights.
