In-Q-Tel, the intelligence community’s venture capital arm, has made a strategic investment in AI.Reverie to further develop the latter company’s computer vision simulation platform designed to meet government agencies’ operational requirements.

AI.Reverie’s platform is designed to create photorealistic virtual worlds to mimic real-time locations and provide automatically annotated synthetic data and various scenarios and objects to facilitate training of algorithms and artificial intelligence tools, IQT said Tuesday.

Peter Bronez, senior member of technical staff at IQT, said AI.Reverie’s tech platform could help agencies advance their computer vision capabilities and has the potential to build up the accuracy of AI tools used to detect activities and objects to ensure national security.

“We expect our partnership to address the need to deliver images and annotations at scale in order to effectively train mission-critical computer vision AI applications,” said Daeil Kim, founder and CEO of AI.Reverie.
