The Defense Logistics Agency has selected Synergetics to create a webscale version of logistics information products in a cloud computing environment.
Synergetics said Wednesday it will update the agency’s Public Logistics and Federal Logistics applications as software-as-a-service platforms with the use of the company-made OpenFLIS platform.
DLA offers data products on CD-ROM or DVD via a subscription process.
The cloud migration effort seeks to increase the availability, scalability and performance of the agency-owned apps, as well as facilitate intelligent monitoring, disaster recovery and continuous improvement tasks. The company expects OpenFLIS to help drive DLA’s utilization of public cloud services.
FED LOG is used at U.S. military facilities worldwide and on warships and submarines, while PUB LOG is used by multiple agencies, companies and individuals who offer products and services to the government.
