Raytheon Conducts Latest Test on New Air and Missile Defense Radar - top government contractors - best government contracting event

Raytheon demonstrated the search, detection and tracking functions of its new air and missile defense radar during a recent test at the U.S. Navy's Pacific Missile Range Facility in Kauai, Hawaii.

The company said Tuesday its AN/SPY-6(V)1 radar has exhibited progress through the Navy's evaluation program, having performed against a range of targets including integrated air and missile defense systems, aircraft and satellites.

Raytheon began developing the radar in January 2014. The system is scheduled for delivery onto the future USS Jack H. Lucas, the first Flight III Arleigh Burke-class destroyer, in 2020.

The AN/SPY-6(V)1 radar is currently in production.
