The Department of Health and Human Services has awarded a $71.8M contract to Public Health Vaccines for research and development of medical applications that address various diseases and health threats, HHS said in a FedBizOpps posted Friday.
The company will focus on multiple health and disease prevention topics including antibacterials, influenza therapeutics and vaccines, respiratory protection and countermeasures for chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear agents.
The Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority solicited for the contract that supports the Pandemic and All Hazard Preparedness Act.
The bill allows BARDA to continuously seek and support the development of technologies designed as countermeasures against epidemic and pandemic threats.
