PAE ISR has met with NASA and the Federal Aviation Administration officials to present a technology package offering for the space agency's unmanned aircraft systems flight demonstration event next year.
The company said Monday it hosted the joint meeting at Pendleton Unmanned Aerial Range and showcased the firm's Resolute Eagle UAS platform to representatives from both agencies.
NASA selected PAE ISR, General Atomics' aeronautical systems business and Textron's Bell subsidiary in October to demonstrate commercial drones and avionics in national airspace by July 2020 as part of the Systems Integration and Operationalization program.
Jake Jacobs, PAE ISR chief technology officer, said the kickoff meeting offered NASA's SIO team ideas about the potential future integration of Resolute Eagle into the country's airspace system.
The NAS program aims to address the challenges facing commercial UAS operations, including development, integration and certification of drones.
Other demonstrations planned for 2020 include the integration of technologies designed for UAS detection, avoid capability and command and control.
