Northrop to Supply C4ISR, Control Systems for Coast Guard's First Offshore Patrol Cutter - top government contractors - best government contracting event

Eastern Shipbuilding Group has selected Northrop Grumman to manufacture command, control, communications, computer, intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance and control systems for installation on the U.S. Coast Guard's first Offshore Patrol Cutter.

Northrop said Monday it will also obtain long lead time materials for those systems ESG will install on a second OPC vessel. The company added it will integrate C4ISR and control systems at a facility in Charlottesville, Va.

The Coast Guard has named its first OPC as Argus and the second as Chase.

The agreements cover integrated bridge, navigation, C2, computing network, data distribution, machinery control and propulsion control equipment.

OPC ships are intended to replace the Coast Guard’s aging Medium Endurance Cutters and support homeland security missions.
