IRS Seeks Info on Mobile Tax Collection Apps - top government contractors - best government contracting event

The Department of the Treasury’s Internal Revenue Service wants information on applications that will enable field revenue officers to collect tax payments through non-cash payment methods.

IRS issued a request for information posted Thursday on FedBizOpps to seek potential vendors that could provide mobile apps, low-frequency beacons, online payment platforms, electronic payment devices and other portable technologies for electronic tax collection.

The agency looks for mobile or web-based platforms designed to help IRS personnel track, report, store and retrieve financial transactions.

IRS said the apps should enable mobile devices to encrypt personally identifiable information, scan credit cards and provide instant receipts, among other technical and operational requirements.

Interested parties can submit responses to the RFI through March 21.
